2019 Judges

The awards will be judged by a panel of industry leaders and experts. The judging is a rigorous two stage process including pre-scoring to determine shortlists and a judging meeting where entries are discussed and evaluated in detail to decide the winning entries.

From a transparency perspective, we may video aspects of the judging session to show on the evening and to give entrants an insight into why our winners were chosen.

Liang is technically minded digital marketer with 10 years of experience primarily in SEO, but also in UX, CRO, PPC and Analytics helping enterprise and SMB to connect and engage with their customers online organically having previously held Head Of SEO position at Dixon Jones(of MajesticSEO)'s digital agency and the Global Technical SEO Manager at RS Components Ltd. He has also been a speaker at BrightonSEO.

Nick Entwistle

I am the Creative Director and Founder of the Bank of Creativity, working with agencies and brands to create compelling content to engage their audiences and generate big interest in their product or service.
One of my recent campaigns helped to encourage donations for Neuroblastoma sufferer Isabella and it went viral with 30 million views across social media and reached national press and TV news.
I also directed the music video and social campaign that led to the NHS beating Justin Bieber to Xmas Number 1.

As well as this, I have 50,000+ followers on social media, including the community user-generated content platform One Minute Briefs which encourages instinctive creativity. I hosts annual events, hold educational workshops with D&AD & the V&A and delivers talks at agencies, universities and the likes of BBC, Glug and Pecha Kucha. I recently released my second OMB book and I also have books published for Agency Quotes, which is a popular social feed where the creative industry around the world share all the #ThingsYouHearInAgencies.

Arianne Donoghue

Having started off her digital career client side over a decade ago, Arianne has worked for both agencies and brands in-house, specialising in all things paid search for companies such as Thomas Cook, Mamas & Papas and ASDA. She is now back agency side doing all things digital strategy. A regular on the conference and training scene, she's also an editor and contributor at popular site State of Digital. 

Dr. Bex Lewis

Senior Lecturer in Digital Marketing, MMU |

Dr Bex Lewis is passionate about helping people engage with the digital world in a positive way, where she has more than 20 years’ experience. She is Senior Lecturer in Digital Marketing at Manchester Metropolitan University and Visiting Research Fellow at St John’s College, Durham University, with a particular interest in digital culture, persuasion and attitudinal change, especially how this affects the third sector, including faith organisations, and, after her breast cancer diagnosis in 2017, has started to research social media and cancer. Trained as a mass communications historian, she has written the original history of the poster Keep Calm and Carry On: The Truth Behind the Poster (Imperial War Museum, 2017), drawing upon her PhD research. She is Director of social media consultancy Digital Fingerprint, and author of Raising Children in a Digital Age: Enjoying the Best, Avoiding the Worst  (Lion Hudson, 2014) as well as a number of book chapters, and regularly judges digital awards. She has a strong media presence, with her expertise featured in a wide range of publications and programmes, including national, international and specialist TV, radio and press, and can be found all over social media, typically as @drbexl.

Joshua Elliott

Josh’s career started in agency, dedicated to social, with extremely strong progression and experience gained in what would be deemed a relatively short timeframe.

Going from being part of the social arm of a traditional media buying agency (Media Agency Group) to joining what would become Europe’s leading social media marketing agency – Social Chain – joining at a time where the business had 30 employees, growing with the business through to having over 250 employees globally.

During his time at Social Chain, Josh developed and progressed from executing ground-breaking, innovative social campaigns for clients such as Boohoo, ASICS and PrettyLittleThing, through to developing and managing insight led strategic development for the likes of Coca-Cola, FIFA, New Balance, Thomas Cook, Apple Music, Warner Music and MBNA.

At the age of 24, Josh took the position of Head of Marketing for social-born ECOM brand Lounge Underwear. Josh manages the integrated marketing strategy, spanning across a digital and traditional marketing mix – all with the business’ objectives of high intensity growth and becoming a global giant in mind. Since Josh joined Lounge, the business has successfully achieved a 124% increase in net profit and a 118% increase in revenue year on year, in what was only the business’ third financial year.

Ben Irons

An experienced Digital Marketing professional, Ben joined the Microsoft Advertising team in October 2018. Ben leads a Sales team servicing Agencies and Clients directly with the aim of leveraging Microsoft platforms to answer business challenges and drive performance for Advertisers across the Microsoft network.

Ben has over ten years experience in the Digital Marketing industry and as held digital roles with Yahoo, iProspect and PHD Media, and most recently as Digital Director for online retail marketplace Notonthehighstreet.com.

Ben is a consistent contributor to the industry having, presenting and judging at numerous Industry events including Search Engine Strategies (SES), various Drum events and awards, and UK and EU Biddable Media Awards over the last few years.

Rax Lakhani

Rax is a seasoned communications strategist with over fifteen years’ experience specialising in online engagement and social media marketing.

Having worked with some of the world’s best-known companies across a variety of sectors, Rax now offers independent consultancy helping agencies, public sector organisations and consumer/b2b brands on bringing their digital marketing strategies to life. He also is a part-time lecturer in digital content creation and online engagement.

Cathy Mcpherson

Cathy is a Client Success Director at TSW (a role which involves getting under the skin of all TSW’s top clients). Cathy sits on TSW’ executive board.

She has 30+ years’ experience, most of it at board level.

Cathy has worked for several media independents, and has significant experience harvesting senior level relationships with performance driven brands, who are looking for fast growth.

Having worked both agency and client side, Cathy is able to look at the agencies work through the lens of a Marketing Director and determine what ‘excellent’ looks like. 

Her additional skills include being qualified business coach and has developed training programmes for several media and creative agencies.  Her skills have given her great insight into how agencies operate and service their clients. 

Ciaran Murphy

Ciaran joined Wolfgang Digital in 2011 as a PPC trainee. He was the third employee at the time. 

3 months later Ciaran moved from the traineeship into a full time position, managing PPC campaigns for some of Ireland's biggest brands (Kilkenny Shop and Louis Copeland) as well as internationally recognised brands like Zurich Life. W

Ciaran has since moved into a Director's role in Wolfgang jointly overseeing Recruitment and Training with the objective of identifying and delivering the next generation of award winning marketers at Wolfgang Digital.

Having moved to London from Sydney in 2016 for a new challenge, she just completed 2.5years as Head of SEO & Content at The Telegraph Media Group and is now exploring new pastures consulting.
